Early or “cling” peaches may need to ripen for 1-3 days before they are perfect for eating! Place them in a brown paper bag (or leave them in the box) on the counter, away from direct sunlight. Be sure to check the peaches each day. They will ripen quickly. If there is a slight give when you squeeze them, they’re ripe and ready. Just don't squeeze too hard, they bruise easily. The aroma of a ripe peach should be sweet. If you can't smell anything, it's a sign you need to give it more time.
